KnightFire’s organization formed in 2006 as a percussion ensemble with the desire to provide continuing education in the marching arts indoor marching and ensemble percussion. Located in the heart of central Illinois KnightFire has performed in dozens of parades and provided stand-still entertainment at various events around Illinois.

Born from the ranks of Drum Corps International and Winter Guard International KnightFire provides a competitive forum for musicians to showcase their arts all year long. KnightFire Percussion Ensembles were formed out of a desire to fill a void in a music and marching rich environment and afford the opportunity for musicians to continue their crafts beyond the traditional marching season.

This year KnightFire Percussion Ensembles received a generous donation from Tom Day and Bugles Across America which allowed us to add horns and guard to our already successful percussion program to become a full bore Drum and Bugle Corps that will compete in the new Small Drum Corps Association Circuit.

KnightFire Drum and Bugle Corps is a year ‘round programs designed to enhance our member’s participation in their traditional band programs. During the summer, members work on fundamental skill development while performing in competitions, parades and exhibitions. During marching band season, members are encouraged to utilize our staff as tutors to reinforce their skills and performance materials for their current programs as well as preparing for the upcoming competition season.

KnightFire is a venturing post with the Boy Scouts of America affording youths between the ages of 11-22 the opportunity to join our competitive units however, since our mission is education, we also provide developmental programs as well.
